Position Description:

As our Project Management Specialist, you will play a vital role in our mission to provide affordable housing solutions to low and middle-income residents of the Miami-Dade area. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the entire project lifecycle, from site finding and land acquisition to project development, construction, property management, and financial services. Your expertise in project management will ensure the successful execution of our affordable housing projects, contributing to the growth and profitability of our organization.

Position Duties Summary:

  • Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation, in collaboration with the project team.
  • Site Finding and Land Acquisition: Identify suitable land and properties for affordable housing projects, negotiate deals, and oversee the acquisition process.
  • Project Development: Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop project designs and specifications that align with affordable housing requirements and
  • regulations.
  • General Construction Services: Manage construction projects, ensuring quality, budget adherence, and timely completion.
  • Property Management: Oversee property management activities, including tenant relations, maintenance, and compliance with housing regulations.
  • Legal & Tax Assistance: Collaborate with legal and financial experts to ensure compliance with all legal and tax requirements for affordable housing projects.
  • Financial Services: Monitor project budgets, financial forecasts, and expenditures, and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring that projects are delivered successfully and within regulatory guidelines.        

 

Position Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field (foreign equivalent degrees accepted).
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in project/operations management, preferably in real estate or affordable housing development
  • In-depth understanding of construction processes, operations, techniques, and materials.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and tools such as MS Project or Auto CAD.
  • Familiarity with construction regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., building codes, safety regulations).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel (including proficiency creating Gantt charts in Excel).

  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task
  • Excellent organizational skills
